This type of fruit information is very limited on the internet. The Syzygium samarangense also better known as Water Apple or Jambu Air. This fruit can be found only in Malaysia and Indonesia. In Malay, its name is Jambu air because the Jambu represents Guava Fruit, Air means water. Combined together as Jambu Air, it is like guava but instead of solid guava, it is very juicy.

It is also crispy and watery making a good thirst quencher. Although they have a high water content, their skins are full of fruit sugars and vitamin A and make a good addition to salads.

also available in Okinawa for very cheap! I bought a bag with roughly 15 apples and it cost me 100 yen (a little over a dollar). I just wasn't sure what to do with them.

This isn't sore throat, but aphthous stomatitis ('Cancer sore'). I doubt that water apple, which is likely slightly acidic, will help - if anything it will make it worse
